This replacement extractor is made slightly oversize at the tail and at the claw. The slight extra length of the tail allows it to be fit to a bolt slot that has been abused by stippling, etc., as a way the old-timers used to increase or maintain tension on the cartridge rim. Gently dress of the rear of the half-round until the extractor hole matches the bolt hole.

The claw is 0.020" longer than typical to ensure enough rach for the .32 cartridges. The 0.020" is simply dressed off to properly fit the .38 and .44 caliber cartridges.

Installation by a competent Gunsmith highly recommended.

The extractor is tool steel, hardened, tempered and blued to give long service. Pivot hole is finished 5/64" to match bolt cross pin size.
